Robin Hood Line Folk Train

About the Event: A first ever Folk Train on the Robin Hood Line is due to run (pending there being no RMT strike action) on Saturday 9th July 2022 from Nottingham to Worksop as part of the Heritage Lottery funded ‘Steaming Back to Kirkby’ project.  Music at the Mallard public house on Worksop Station will take place from 1.45pm to 3.30pm. Music on the service train will be in the middle coach of the train.

The ‘Steaming Back to Kirkby’ heritage project commemorates fifty years since the closure of Kirkby-in-Ashfield Loco Shed and Sidings, which closed in the autumn of 1970.

Venue: Depart Nottingham station 12.25pm, calling at all stations on the Robin Hood Line enroute to Worksop including Kirkby-in-Ashfield at 12.53pm with arrival at Worksop at 1.33pm.  Train back will be the 3.39pm departure from Worksop which arrives at Kirkby at 4.21pm and Nottingham at 4.50pm.  Music at the Mallard, Worksop Station, from 1.45pm to 3.30pm.

Date and Time: Saturday 9th July 2022 (pending there being no RMT strike action planned on this day)

Cost: Free event, all welcome. Just purchase your train ticket and come and join us for a day out to celebrate the railway heritage of Kirkby-in-Ashfield in song and rhyme.
