Mansfield to Worksop Railway Heritage Project

A railway heritage project to research and record the history of the Mansfield to Worksop Midland line has recently commenced. The project steering team are looking for a few dedicated volunteers to help collect, compile and collate the history of the line and write a booklet, design heritage boards (to go on the stations) and put a mobile exhibition together. The project has been extended to install a railway heritage interpretation panel at Kirkby-in-Ashfield station on the Robin Hood Line.

The project will include looking at how the railway supported the local economies and communities along the line. If you would like to be involved with the project over the next twelve months, please contact Denis Hill, Project Officer, by e-mail at denishill1066@gmail.com
